Transformer Rectifiers

Air Cooled Transformer Rectifiers

This type of transformer rectifiers may be manufactured with different controls upon request (or according to cathodic protection design). Cooling system in such transformer rectifiers being of "AN" type. The degrees of protection of both oilcooled and air-cooled TR IP42 through IP55 will be upon request.

Applications
Applications Air Cooled Transformer Rectifiers are designed for applications where lower current units are required, generally up to 50 amperes and are suitable for environments in ambient temperatures up to 55°C whether indoors or outside. The units are generally smaller and of lighter weight than oil cooled units and are particularly suited to non-hazardous area applications where the size and weight of an oil cooled transformer rectifier would make installation prohibitive.

Control
  • Continuously Variable Transformer (Variac)
  • Discrete Step Switching in 16, 20, 25 or 63 Steps (Step Control)
  • Constant Current / Constant Voltage
  • Automatic Potential Controlled.

Input Supply
  • 115V to 240V single phase
  • Up to 660V three phase

Oil Cooled Transformer Rectifiers

To increase the safety factor of the TR in tense conditions, oil-cooled transformer rectifiers are manufactured. In such TRs, the transformer, rectifying bridge and filters concerned will be immersed into oil. A board fixed to the body which the electrical components of the circuit and input-output terminals are installed.

In such transformer rectifiers, the oil tank will be equipped with a level site gauge, dial thermometer and also a silica gel oil breather absorbent. Also, inlet-outlet oil locations have been provided on the said tank. The cooling system in such transformer rectifiers are of ONAN type.

Applications
Oil Cooled Transformer Rectifiers are ideally suited to heavy duty applications in arduous environments with ambient temperatures up to 55°C, and are available with current ratings of up to 400A. Our inhouse design and manufacturing process allows us to build multiple output channels into a single transformer rectifier unit.

Control
  • Continuously variable transformer (Variac)
  • Discrete Step Switching in 16, 20, 25 , 63 steps (Step Control)
  • Constant Current / Constant Voltage
  • Automatic Potential Control.

Input Supply
  • 115V to 240V single phase
  • Up to 400V three phase.

Hazardous Area (ATEX Certified) Transformer Rectifiers

We supplied the range of ATEX Certified Oil Cooled Hazardous Area Transformer Rectifiers for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas with:
  • Gas group IIB (Baseefa 07 ATEX 0155)
  • Gas group IIC (Baseefa 07 ATEX 0261)

These are specifically for the Cathodic Protection of Steel Structures including jetties, pipelines, tank farms and offshore structures and vessels. They have been designed to comply with the most stringent industry specifications and perform in arduous environmental conditions where continual Operational Safety and Reliability is paramount. The ATEX certified transformer rectifiers are in the ONAN (Oil Natural Air Natural) cooling category and thus have a greater inherent reliability than oil circulated and forced air designs.

All units are supplied to stringent safety and rigorous quality assurance procedures under our ISO 9001 certification, fully in accordance with all applicable British and European standards.
